Same season, same storm corridor, same conversation four times over. This one is a Craftsman — sage shake gables, stacked stone veneer at the base, a deep covered porch on square columns, and a roof that fans out into four separate front-facing peaks before it even gets to the main ridge. 02 NOWHERE TO HIDE That elevation is the whole challenge. On a house where the roof mostly runs away from the street, a slightly wandering cut line along a rake is invisible. Here, four gable ends face the sidewalk at once. Every rake, every ridge cap, every place where a gable ties back into the main field sits at eye level from the front walk. Craftsman rooflines are unforgiving in a specific way: the eye reads them as a set. Four peaks that should rhyme with each other.
