That's not a coincidence of geography. Storms don't pick one house. When a system tracks across open country south of Bellefontaine, it hits everything in the corridor — and the homes with the most exposure take the most damage. Two neighbors, one weather event, two claims. 02 A HARDER ROOF THAN IT LOOKS From the driveway this reads as a big, handsome roof. From above it's a different story: the octagonal turret alone puts eight separate planes into one small area, every one of them meeting the main hip at a different angle. Add the arched entry gable, the dormer, the garage-wing hip, and the step-downs off the back, and you have a roof where the flashing and the cut lines matter more than the field does. A turret is where you find out whether a crew measures or eyeballs. Eight facets have to close on a point. If the coursing drifts even slightly on the way up, it shows at the peak — and it shows forever. Storms don't pick one house. They pick a corridor. Why two neighbors filed in the same season 03 WHAT WE INSTALLED The same full GAF certified system we put on the neighbor's house: GAF Timberline HDZ architectural shingles, rated to 130 mph when installed as a complete system with the required accessories, with 25 years of StainGuard Plus algae protection and a 50-year shingle warranty. Ridge vent along the main runs, paired with soffit intake. New step flashing at every wall intersection — and on a house with this much wall-to-roof contact, that's a lot of step flashing. New pipe boots. Cap shingles finishing every hip, ridge, and turret facet. The color went darker and cooler than the neighbor's Charcoal — a deliberate difference. This elevation carries far more stone, and stone reads cool.
